Rehab and Integrative Veterinarian - Companion Animal Specialty and Emergency

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Board‑Certified or Residency‑Trained Rehab and Integrative Veterinarian to join our dynamic and compassionate team at Companion Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital (CASE) in Crystal Lake, IL. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. The veterinarian will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager. Local hospital culture backed by national resources. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Communicate and educate clients. Maintain accurate medical records. Handle pharmacy duties, including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge. Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to uphold the highest standards. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution. One‑year rotational internship in small‑animal medicine, surgery, or emergency medicine (university or large referral practice). Completed a 3‑year, AVMA‑approved residency program. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration obtained and maintained. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Ability to thrive in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care. Professional client communication to elicit information, establish rapport, and provide explanations. Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with severely stressed, ill, or painful animals. Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and perform intermittent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required. Capacity for moderately physically demanding work. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Board Certification. 2–5 years of experience post‑residency. Demonstrated clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other essential examinations with appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Problem‑solving ability to address challenges in a high‑quality veterinary hospital. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and internal staff. Professionalism and openness to constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback. Business acumen: understanding practice management and finances. Ethical knowledge guiding patient‑care decisions. Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others. Pay Range

$160,000 — $200,000 USD
