Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four‑year college or university. Valid Florida teacher certification or an equivalent credential. Appropriate ESOL, Gifted, and Reading support hours as required. Performance Responsibilities Maintains a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or appropriate certification. Adheres to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State Board of Education, the school board, and administrative procedures. Prepares, maintains, and submits accurate and complete records and reports as required by the State Board of Education and school board policies. Supports the student learning plan. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative procedures, and board policies. Fulfills the terms of the written contract, unless released from the contract by the school board. Maintains a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, and conducive to effective learning for all students. Meets and instructs assigned classes at the designated locations and times. Prepares and maintains lesson plans for assigned classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon supervisor request. Works with students to create a classroom environment supportive of teaching and learning. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of all individuals or student groups.
