Civil Estimator

Trillium Construction is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator for a growing client in Beaumont, TX.


Schedule is Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Annual salary is $125,000+ (Based on Experience). This is a full-time, onsite position responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for electrical utility and solar construction projects.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction estimating and understand how to accurately estimate civil work durations, sequencing, production rates, and construction processes. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the bidding process to ensure complete and competitive proposals.


This is not a remote position. Candidates must be able to work in the Beaumont, TX office Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Key Responsibilities
-Independently manage the estimating process from RFP through bid submission.
-Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
-Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and civil construction activities using estimating software.
-Estimate civil work durations, sequencing, production rates, and construction methods for utility and solar projects.
-Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate site conditions and identify project risks.
-Solicit, review, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
-Prepare complete bid packages, including scope narratives, clarifications, exclusions, alternates, and supporting documentation.
-Collaborate with project managers and field operations to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to project execution.
-Perform post-bid reviews to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
-Maintain historical cost databases, pricing information, and vendor relationships.
-Stay current on industry trends, material pricing, NEC code updates, and best practices.

Qualifications
-3-5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, electrical utility construction, electrical contracting, solar EPC, or a related heavy civil industry.
-Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods, including work durations, sequencing, production rates, and installation processes.
-Experience preparing competitive bids ranging from $50,000 to $10M+.
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and single-line diagrams.
-Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam Revu, CAD, and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel.
-Knowledge of electrical systems, NEC code, and/or solar PV construction is highly preferred.
-Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
-Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.
-Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
