Sanitation Worker Position located at Blairsville Hatchery, Blairsville, GA. Position reports to Sr Supervisor Hatchery. Position grade 08. FLSA status: Nonexempt. Starting pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, & Sunday including holidays until job is complete. Typical average 40 hours per week. Shift begins between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs. Requirements Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full‑time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days. Rehire rule: no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience are preferred. Priority consideration is given to internal applicants first. Position Summary This position is responsible for the sanitation/cleaning of the hatchery: sanitizing hatchers, setters, trays, racks, buggies, and all other hatchery equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (50%) Clean and sanitize hatchers and setters.

• 30%) Clean and sanitize all hatchery equipment using a high pressure and regular water hose.
• 5%) Monitor and record temperatures in the hatchers and setters.
• 15%) Maintain foot pans and hand sanitizers, operate macerator, operate tray washer, tray, and set eggs, pull chicks, operate chick counter, pack, or unpack eggs and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. The Company provides appropriate clothing and footwear. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must use safe lifting techniques, be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and push/pull 500‑1000 lbs. Overhead lifting is required. Required to work on wet and slippery surfaces daily. And regular duties include standing majority of shift, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, bending over, talking or hearing. Specific vision abilities required: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus. Work environments: hot, dry, dusty, wet, & cold. Tools and Equipment High pressure hose. Personnel required to use safety glasses, safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots, ear plugs and earmuffs as needed. Chemicals Commonly Used Formaldehyde, disinfectant, lubricants, and Virocid. Safety Team member expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out/Tag out, and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks. General Sign Off The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
