Job Title: Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Wound and Ostomy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 5x8 - 6:45 am - 3:00 pm Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS certification required; Wound and Ostomy Certification preferred Must-Have: - Must meet requirements of Registered Nurse - Ability to prioritize and problem solve - Ability to relate collaboratively with the health care team - Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing - Good interpersonal and communication skills Description: The Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse establishes satisfactory interpersonal relationships with colleagues, patients, families, and significant others. Initiates communication with patients and families to determine individual needs. Facilitates communication with colleagues in other disciplines to share and exchange ideas and information. Provides detailed patient education to patients and family members during the inpatient stay and at discharge. Responds effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to communications from patients, families, and significant others. Demonstrates sensitivity to the values of self and others in decision-making. Involves patients and families in the plan of care, incorporating their cultural, spiritual, and other belief systems. Physical demands involve standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending. May include some repetitive motions.
