Work includes reviewing and revising standard and special specifications for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Agency requirements and applicable industry standards, as well as establishing and evaluating material acceptance criteria and coordinating with internal staff and external stakeholders to support effective specification development and implementation.The position also supports the organization and delivery of materials-related components of digital construction plan sets in accordance with Agency digital delivery standards. In addition, it maintains and manages key materials program documentation to ensure information remains current, properly controlled, and aligned with Agency procedures. The work involves cross-functional coordination to support consistent application of materials requirements and effective delivery of construction and materials information.As a member of the Construction and Materials Bureau, this position contributes to critical components of project delivery by supporting the processes, standards, and coordination necessary for successful transportation construction. Fieldwork may involve exposure to hazardous materials, traffic hazards, and construction sites during all weather conditions and may involve traversing rough terrain and bodies of water. Some work outside of regular working hours, including attendance at public meetings, may be required. Strong differences of opinion may be encountered on a regular basis.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND four (4) years of engineering experience.
