Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and continuous telemetry monitoring on a 32-bed cardiac unit serving patients with cardiovascular conditions on a 24-hour basis
• Manage care for Heart Failure patients, including inpatient care coordination and arrangement of post-hospitalization services
• Perform continuous EKG monitoring and/or continuous oxygen saturation monitoring via telemetry
• Administer intravenous and oral medications used to treat cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
• Prepare and facilitate patient transport for cardiac interventions, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown or equivalent unit; first-time travelers must have a minimum of 3 years of specialty experience
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Familiarity with Omnicell medication system
• Must live more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be fully eligible; candidates residing 90-99.9 miles away may be considered under modified terms; candidates under 90 miles are not eligible

• 2 or more years of experience in a cardiac or telemetry nursing setting
• Experience caring for patients undergoing cardiac interventions and pre/post-surgical preparation
• Demonstrated ability to provide holistic, patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs

• Work within a structured, high-acuity cardiac environment with opportunities to develop advanced telemetry and cardiovascular nursing skills
• Pre-assignment orientation modules may be eligible for reimbursement of up to 16 hours, providing support during the onboarding process
