Establish workflows and protocols to support project objectives, maintain GIS data quality, and provide task-level oversight of GIS Technicians and Analysts.Job DescriptionWhat you’ll do:Essential Job Functions & TasksMaintain GIS data consistency, accuracy, and integrityMonitor GIS data entry and coordinate updatesDevelop, assemble, edit, and revise maps and map products using cartographic principlesProvide software maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and database model changesServe as primary support for GIS users, both technically and functionallySupport web-based GIS applicationsResolve software issues and respond to requests for enhancementsWork with technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve software problemsTrain employees on data entry, data manipulation, data extraction, and GIS software useAssist in developing software user manualsEnsure GIS interfaces effectively with other corporate systemsLead innovation and process improvements within the GIS environmentIntegrate geographic, cartographic, remote sensing, and GPS concepts into data management and displayCoordinate GPS data integration with GIS, including research and purchasing supportAssist in developing GIS standards for symbology, processes, and proceduresHelp refine and advance GIS platform strategies and workflowsSupport customer project development and GIS platform needsProvide project- or task-level quality control oversightWhat we’re looking for:Education requirements are listed below:GIS Specialist:Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field; orAssociate’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant work experience; orHigh School diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant work experienceWork Experience requirement listed below:GIS Specialist:5 years of GIS-related work experience requiredGIS Specialist Senior7 years of GIS-related work experience requiredOther preferences:Strong GIS foundation knowledge and problem-solving abilityThorough understanding of data management principles, including database design, data archiving, metadata creation, and data organizationAbility to establish cartographic designsExperience providing project or task-level quality control oversightExperience with web-based mapping technologies such as HTML and JavaScriptKnowledge of GPS receivers and data collection softwareProficiency in database development concepts such as Oracle or SQL ServerProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and AccessStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and seek assistance when neededWillingness and capability to assume leadership rolesValid state driver’s licenseWhat you’ll get:Base Salary from $74,551-109,544/year.
