About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. License: Must possess a valid nursing license. Certifications: BLS & ACLS; NIHSS. Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. Traveler experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Description: This position requires adherence to strict scheduling protocols. Requests for time off after booking are not permitted and will not be accommodated onsite. Any call-offs or additional requests for time off may result in cancelation. Required skills include cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, sheath removal, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-myocardial infarction, pre/post-cardiac catheterization, and managing cardiac drips. Familiarity with external CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management is essential. Preferred skills include arterial line management, wound care, and charge experience. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:6, varying by acuity. Weekend shifts are required, with flexibility in scheduling. Candidates may need to float between units as necessary. All contract staff are expected to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Candidates must be prepared to fulfill various patient care responsibilities. Patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, and several other cardiac conditions. Special procedures performed include CABG, valve replacements, and various vascular surgeries. Familiarity with specific equipment and technologies used in cardiac care is necessary. Communication within the unit typically utilizes standardized documentation systems.
