Location:Monroe Regional HospitalDepartment:LaboratoryWeekly Hours:10Status:Part timeShift:Days (United States of America)Job Summary:As a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESCollects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency roomLabels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testingPrepares urine specimensMaintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are neededAssists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly conditionThe above summary of accountabilities is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
