CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT- DUKE WOMENS HEALTH HERITAGE Job Location: 3000 Rogers Rd in Wake Forest NC Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at Duke Womens Health Heritage in Wake Forest, NC. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Take medical histories and record vital signs, charge posting, order entry. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; perform bladder scans, void trials, catherizations; Document and communicate pertinent information. Assist the physician during the examination and procedures. Collect/prepare laboratory and blood specimens; perform Point of Care laboratory tests. Sterilize medical instruments using High Level Disinfection and Autoclave as appropriate. Review medical and surgical instructions with patients and/or caregivers, and document in patient record. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician. Daily clinic preparation process - QC and safety checks. Monitor and/or order clinic supplies, fill out insurance and FMLA forms. Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician. Job Eligibility Requirements: Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant programaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. BLS required Job Hours: The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
