PARAEDUCATOR IV - Contracted Eligibility Pool

JOB CLASSIFICATION: PARAEDUCATOR IV

JOB SUMMARY: This position supports students with severe disabilities. The paraeducator may support students with more significant disabilities in variety of settings including but not limited to: in self-contained classrooms, related services (Occupational Therapy, Speech, etc.) may also include supervision in General Education, Learning Center/RSP, recess, lunch, etc. This position supports students age three and twenty-two.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of one year of experience employed as a Paraeducator II or Paraeducator III in a school or organized educational setting AND

• Completion of a minimum of 48 semester units of college coursework with a grade of C or better in each course (transcripts required), OR possession of an A.A. degree or higher.

• Valid Paraeducator Exam certification under ESSA (NCLB) OR successful completion of the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam as applicable.

• California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) requirement satisfied.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• CPI certification (must be kept up to date)

• Valid CPR Certification (CPR certificate must be issued within six months of employment and maintained as outlined by the issuing entity).

• Valid California Class C driver's license.

• Complete 5 hours of annual assigned district training.

• Employee Entrance Evaluation (strength test).
