Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) unit position requiring at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience and current AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Work setting is an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — not a stepdown unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a valid compact license required
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• SSN required for consideration (Canadian SIN not accepted)
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Copies of all active certifications required for consideration (expired certifications will result in disqualification)

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care using the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources
• BSN is preferred but not required
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
