You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high‑quality patient care. RN is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls, as indicated. Primary Responsibilities Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift. Administers direct care as necessary. Administers prescribed medications to patients. Knows the layout and location of the entire facility. Maintains a safe environment for resident care. Maintains work documentation as required, including forms and reports such as water, feeding, and bathing charts, as well as medication charts. Documents health and special needs of resident. Confirms and understands institutional culture and emergency procedures. Provides overall goal and previous outcomes of the resident. Assists insurance in health considerations or large health events. Other Duties Maintains the self‑respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident. Maintains accurate documentation of all care rendered. Responds to resident emergency call system. Interfaces with other disciplines to assure continuity of care and services. Accompanies physicians when making rounds. Encourages restorative care in order to obtain maximum resident independence. Participates in family/resident counseling, as necessary. Assists with the orientation and evaluation of nursing personnel. Attends in‑service training and education sessions, as assigned. Assures proper functioning of equipment and adequate supplies. Qualifications All nurses must be currently licensed in the State. Must have current CPR certification. Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields, at least 6 months of nursing experience in a long‑term care setting preferred. All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some of the roles in our community also require that we request vaccination status or that he/she has testing done for measles, mumps, rubella, & varicella (MMRV) to ensure immunity.
