Diesel Technician

Position Description Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Sanford, Florida—offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a Technician career you can feel good about. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay: $23.76 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (4 times per year) Schedule: Monday through Friday, weekends off Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. first shift Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, boot allowance Paid training Safety‑first workplace & state‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech Competition: Earn $250 – $50,000 per year U.S. military veterans - extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech, and more Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or technical certification, postsecondary degree or technical certifications preferred Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience required; preferred Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including preventive maintenance Perform standard component inspections and repairs Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, utilize diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of failures/conditions, perform repairs as required Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support Equal Opportunity Statement Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and drug‑free workplace.
