Overview Job Description - Medical Technologist or Technician-Baroness Lab-Rotating Shifts-Full-Time (45771) Medical Technologist or Technician – Baroness Lab, rotating shifts, full-time. Responsibilities The Medical Technologist performs chemical, microscopic and bacteriological testing of body fluids to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease under the direction of a Coordinator. Works closely with the Coordinator and other Technicians/Technologists in an atmosphere of continuous quality improvement. Performs duties as assigned by a Coordinator, Clinical Lab Manager, and/or Administrative Laboratory Director. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the section, with the ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret information needed to identify age-specific requirements and provide care per unit policies and procedures. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related biological science and 12-months approved clinical training in a NACCLS approved program or equivalent. In lieu of an Associate’s degree, has successfully completed equivalent military training and served as a medical laboratory specialist. Certification: MT/CLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent. Licensure (Preferred): State of Tennessee licensure Medical Laboratory Technologist. Employment Details Department Position Summary includes: Regular - Non-exempt - Full-time - Standard Hours 36.
