Sales Representative - Seafood & Food Distribution

Overview

A respected seafood and food distribution organization is seeking a driven Sales Representative to expand market presence, strengthen customer partnerships, and support ongoing revenue growth throughout the region. This position is well-suited for a relationship-oriented sales professional who thrives on prospecting, developing new accounts, and delivering exceptional service to customers across the seafood and foodservice industries.

Key Responsibilities

• • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and outbound outreach.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
  • Manage existing customer relationships while uncovering opportunities for account growth and increased sales.
  • Build partnerships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, foodservice operators, and seafood buyers.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, and opportunity tracking within the company's CRM platform.
  • Process customer orders and ensure timely communication throughout the order fulfillment process.
  • Work closely with operations, inventory, and logistics teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor market trends, customer purchasing patterns, pricing changes, and inventory requirements.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Support territory growth initiatives and contribute toward sales performance goals.
  Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, territory management, or business development.
  • Background within seafood, food distribution, protein, perishables, food manufacturing, or a related industry required.
  • Demonstrated success developing new accounts and growing existing customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing a territory independently.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
  Preferred Experience
  • Experience selling to foodservice operators, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, or seafood buyers.
  • Existing network of industry contacts within seafood or food distribution markets.
  • Understanding of seafood products, supply chain operations, inventory management, and distribution channels.
  • Familiarity working within a fast-paced environment where pricing and customer demand can shift frequently.
