Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse Emergency RoomShift: 3x12 Nights 1900-0730. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, but may change based on need. Medication system in use is Omnicell. Documentation system in use is EPIC. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the Emergency Room. First-time travelers will be reviewed based on skill and experience. Floating to other units may be required based on need. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 130 patients. The unit has 27 rooms and 44 beds. Interdisciplinary support is available from various departments. Staffing and scheduling are managed to accommodate patient care needs. Travelers must have a minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC. Competency and skill validation is required before floating to other units. Modules are billable and must be completed pre-start and annually. Staff will float to qualified units only for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented. Traveler positions are subject to compliance guidelines. Commitment to providing quality patient care is essential. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills are required for team collaboration. Capacity to manage a wide range of emergency situations and patient needs. Experience with high acuity patients is advantageous. Willingness to adapt to changing environments and patient loads is necessary. Professional behavior and adherence to clinical guidelines are expected. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are vital in this role. Safe medication administration and monitoring are crucial responsibilities.
