Mechanic

Adell Cooperative

Adell Cooperative  is hiring a Mechanic  to join our team in Adell, WI. In this role you will be maintaining and repairing our fleet of farm equipment, heavy duty trucks, trailers, and agricultural application equipment. This role is critical to keeping our agriculture operations running efficiently by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and completing repairs that maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on company trucks, trailers, and agricultural application equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, brake, tire, steering, suspension, and electrical issues.
  • Complete oil changes, greasing, brake repairs, tire replacements, wheel seal repairs, and other routine maintenance.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Schedule maintenance with internal departments to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Order and manage parts and shop inventory while helping control maintenance costs.
  • Utilize warranties and evaluate repair options to maximize value.
  • Safely operate hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, managers, and vendors.
  • Support other departments as needed and contribute to a team focused environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies along with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Attend training opportunities to stay current with diesel, truck, and agricultural equipment technology.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, farm equipment, or agriculture equipment repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Diesel engine experience.
  • Experience maintaining agricultural equipment, farm machinery, heavy trucks, or trailers.
  • Fabrication or welding experience.
  • CDL or the ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working around heavy equipment. Candidates should be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds while working safely in both shop and outdoor agriculture environments.

Work Environment

This position works in a maintenance shop and outdoor farm environments where exposure to moving machinery, grain dust, weather conditions, chemicals, noise, and heavy agricultural equipment is common. Safety is a top priority, and employees are expected to follow all company policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
