Job Details: Job Location: Ambulatory Surgery Center - Memphis, TN 38103, Position Type: Full Time, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Ambulatory Support Services. What you will do Collaborate with Ambulatory Services leadership to develop and implement activities, provide operational support, obtain information, answer inquiries and resolve issues. Lead and provide guidance for all patient care delivered, promoting an efficient, effective, timely, and safe workflow in the assigned ambulatory practice(s). Serve as a consultative resource for ambulatory practice staff, providing expert knowledge and role‑modeling behavioral skills that impact clinical practice and patient outcomes. Develop, assign, and/or review patient plans to ensure positive patient outcomes. Serve as the clinical leader and resource for all staff and providers in the assigned ambulatory practice(s). Demonstrate clinical competency in the execution of the nursing process and direct staff in the application of care. Facilitate the care process and a positive patient experience through interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities related to the delivery of ambulatory nursing care across the system of care. Maintain safety and control of patients, employees, and visitors in the ambulatory practice. Demonstrate appropriate leadership in emergency situations in the delivery of care. Assist in improving and sustaining clinical excellence. Assist in the development of objectives, policies, procedures, and standards consistent with patient care procedures, demonstrated competencies, risk management, infection control, and patient safety practices. Ensure continued readiness regarding accreditation and regulatory requirements. Partner with leadership and management to ensure the EOC rounding schedule is executed. Participate in quality reviews for clinical care improvement. Use information systems and technology at the point of care to improve health care outcomes. Conduct scheduled tracers and chart audits for the assigned ambulatory practice(s). Critically evaluate and anticipate risks to client safety to improve quality of client care delivery. Participate in the preparation of the ambulatory practice(s) for Joint Commission, state, and CMS surveys. Collaborate with the Practice Manager to develop and implement process changes to ensure compliance and improve outcomes. Represent the clinic through involvement on interdepartmental and interdisciplinary committees or task forces. Serve as an administrative liaison; work collaboratively with hospital/medical staff, managed care/insurance representatives, patients, IT, and others, promoting patient satisfaction and coordinating quality services. Provide nursing services as required. Demonstrate knowledge and technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills to provide care, maintain clinical competency, and meet age‑specific patient needs. Prepare and maintain required records, reports, and files for operational, administrative, and compliance purposes. Utilize organizational computer systems to enter and retrieve data. Maintain professional credentials and education, stay current with clinical theories, best practices, and trends, attend continuing education, staff development, and mandatory programs. Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with HIPAA and compliance policies. Participate in the orientation and training of new staff and students who provide patient care as part of their training. Assist in special project activities and issues in accordance with established guidelines. Obtain and present data. Utilize analytical skills and statistical analysis to aggregate data, identify potential problems and patterns, trends, and prioritize improvement activities. Qualifications Graduate of an approved school of nursing (Required). Bachelor's Degree BSN (Preferred). Qualified by education, training, or experience to work with school age, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient populations as the specialty assignment dictates (Required). Additional education based on area of assignment (Required). Registered Nurse (RN) with Tennessee state licensure and/or Compact State licensure (Required). Current CPR certification (Required). Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (Required). Current NPR (Required). Additional license or certification based on area of assignment (Required). Minimum 3 years of clinical and patient care experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting (Required). Previous charge nurse, leadership, and/or supervisory experience (Preferred).
