Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location. Job Summary And Qualifications A Certified Cardiac Surgical Tech performs the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team. They assist the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure, functioning as a member of a specialty team. Ability to work cooperatively with the surgical team is required. As a Technician II, the candidate demonstrates competency in the practice of advanced‑level case assignment and advanced‑level equipment. They act as a resource person for others in the department and actively participate in the preceptor role in training new personnel. They help coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty. You will assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during the course of surgery. You will assist in maintaining a safe and aseptic environment for all patients. Qualifications Graduate from high school or equivalent program required. Completion of Surgical Technologist course required. Surgical Technologist certification required. Minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist, with preference for an acute care facility. Current BCLS certification required.
