Unit: 40-bed CVPC cardiac surgery stepdown unit
EHR: Cerner
Requirements: 2+ years experience, BLS, ACLS, Stepdown and telemetry experience
Ratios: 1:5; may float to Med Surg 1:6–1:7 or ER holding 1:6
Preferred: CV surgery, vascular surgery, open heart, TAVR, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, or CVICU experience
Skills: Epidural management, chest tubes, tube feeds, IV gluccomander, cardiac drip management
Patient Population: CABG, valve surgery, TAVR, thoracic surgery, AAA repair, vascular surgery, heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block
Weekends/Holidays: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; holiday flexibility required
Float: Stepdown, Med Surg, or ER inpatient holding
