Registered Nurse-Mother Baby

Overview Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Mother Baby to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, family-centered nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns in a supportive, collaborative environment. You will perform comprehensive assessments of mothers and infants, develop and implement individualized care plans, and closely monitor vital signs, recovery from childbirth, breastfeeding progress, pain control, and overall well-being. The Registered Nurse Mother Baby will administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based protocols, provide newborn care including routine assessments, safe sleep education, and support with feeding, and promptly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition. A critical part of this role is patient and family education offering clear, compassionate teaching on postpartum recovery, infant care, breastfeeding and lactation support, and when to seek additional care after discharge. You will collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless, coordinated care and an excellent patient experience. Documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses will be completed accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
