Area Business Manager

Location Houston, TX Position Area Business Manager (ABM), US Petcare Division Responsibilities Lead and develop all colleagues in the area, demonstrating solution coaching capabilities and supporting the growth of Account Managers (AM) and Executive Account Managers (EAM). Direct business activities and efforts to meet objectives set by management, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and performance management. Spend ~75% of time on field‑coaching days to strengthen AM and EAM core capabilities and professional development. Achieve or exceed sales objectives (quota) overall and for key growth products; drive new product launches, growth rates, and improve area business health through analytical insights. Develop annual strategic business plans for the area, covering demographics, economics, performance, potential, and actionable items. Coordinate and allocate marketing resources, balancing needs of AMs and EAMs. Handle administrative duties such as operating expenses, performance reviews, and reporting. Attend new product launches, regional/area sales meetings, and special projects directed by regional or headquarters management. Qualifications Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required. Minimum 3 years of people‑leader/management experience. Strong leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, business management, and computer skills. Experience in analytics and insights to enhance decision‑making and tactical execution. Ability to manage expense budgets and work independently in a fast‑moving environment. Experience in animal health with knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine. Willingness to accept and incorporate feedback; continuous learner and change agent. Travel & Physical Requirements Travel extensively (70–80%); may require overnight stays.
