Position Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is an integral member of our accounting team and will play a key role in supporting the Company's continued growth.

This position is ideal for someone seeking long-term career advancement. You'll assist with month-end close, project accounting, financial reporting, and account analysis while working directly with the Chief Financial Officer on strategic initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Enter new vendors and maintain existing vendor records.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and monthly reconciliations.
• Monitor and review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging reports.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity.
• Support Accounts Receivable and Project Management with AIA billings, T&M billings, and customer invoicing.
• Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules using percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting policies and internal controls.
• Mentor and support accounting team members.
• Partner directly with the CFO on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
• Five or more years of accounting experience preferred.
• Construction accounting and job costing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and WIP reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
