Cloud Technology SME — Multi-Cloud Los Angeles, CA (on-site / hybrid) Contract 8–10 years experience US Citizen or GC only Must relocate to LA. We're hiring a Cloud Technology SME who has lived and breathed multi-cloud infrastructure — not just managed it from dashboards, but designed it, broken it, and made it production-grade. You'll be the go-to technical authority on cloud strategy and architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, working directly with engineering, product, and executive stakeholders to drive cloud adoption and modernization at scale. What you'll do Serve as the primary technical authority on multi‑cloud architecture decisions across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Design and govern cloud‑native solutions including compute, networking, storage, security, and cost optimization across cloud providers. Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives — from legacy lift‑and‑shift to full re‑architecture as cloud‑native microservices. Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, guardrails, and governance frameworks (landing zones, policy‑as‑code, tagging, cost controls). Evaluate and recommend cloud services and third‑party tools for workloads including containers, serverless, data platforms, and AI/ML. Partner with security teams to implement zero‑trust architecture, IAM best practices, and compliance controls (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS where applicable). Drive FinOps practices — build cost visibility, establish optimization playbooks, and hold teams accountable to cloud spend targets. Mentor engineers across squads on cloud‑native patterns, IaC, and operational best practices. Produce architecture documentation, ADRs, and roadmaps for executive and technical audiences. What you bring 8–10 years of hands‑on cloud engineering and architecture experience — not project management or consulting oversight, but actual design and build. Production‑grade experience across at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP — certifications are a plus, but real architecture ownership is what matters. Deep expertise in cloud networking: VPCs, subnets, peering, transit gateways, private endpoints, DNS, and hybrid connectivity (VPN / Direct Connect / ExpressRoute). Hands‑on Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (primary), with working knowledge of CloudFormation, Bicep, or Pulumi. Strong container and orchestration experience: Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE), Docker, Helm, and service mesh concepts. CI/CD pipeline design and DevSecOps integration — GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent. Cloud security fundamentals: IAM, RBAC, secrets management, encryption at rest and in transit, and compliance framework alignment. Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical initiatives and influence architecture decisions at the director or VP level. Nice to have Experience with cloud data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. Exposure to AI/ML cloud workloads — SageMaker, Azure ML, or Vertex AI. FinOps certification or demonstrated cloud cost optimization at $1 M+ annual spend. Background in regulated industries: fintech, healthcare, media, or entertainment. Active cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Pro, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
