Job: VP, Finance / Controller

Location: Berkeley, CA

Onsite: 5x in office per week

Hourly Pay: $90 - $100 / hour, depending on experience

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

 

Our client is looking for a high-level Consultant to join the team and assist them with hands-on responsibilities on both the FP&A and accounting sides through June 2027. This is a rapid-growth start-up environment.

 

This is an onsite role in Berkeley, CA.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

FP&A:

• Partner with Project Managers to provide budgeting guidance for lifecycle of various projects.
• Assist with onboarding new projects and setting up budgets accordingly.
• Meet with various teams on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure deadlines are being met.
• Lead additional financial planning efforts over the coming months/years.
• Establish best practices and streamline current processes, when possible.

 

Accounting:

• Review the work of other team members to help facilitate month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activity and associated reporting.
• Spearhead the 2026 audit and act as the liaison with the auditors for all requests. 
• Handle a high volume of requests from internal employees and external vendors.

 

Requirements:

• A combination of both FP&A and accounting experience to be able to assist with both sets of responsibilities.
• Experience in a start-up environment with minimal handholding and the ability to wear multiple hats and quickly pivot, as necessary.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with Google Sheets.
