Senior Highway Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Highway/Roads Engineer to lead detailed development of rural and urban roadway design projects and support a range of transportation initiatives. Responsibilities Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of rural and urban roadway design projects. Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems. Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity. Provide guidance for technical staff. Assume project‑management duties and interact with clients as needed. Supervise the work of medium‑sized staff of professionals and technicians as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Utilize CADD production and modeling software including OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation SS10. Preferred Qualifications MSCE degree. Advanced Temporary Traffic Control Certification. Experience with Civil 3D, InRoads, and Microsoft Office applications. Required Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng). Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignment preparation, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans. Experience with coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout is a plus. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in an employee‑owned culture.
