Whether you prefer the structure of an office, the convenience of remote work, or a mix of both, we support what works best for you!Please note: at this time we are not able to hire in Massachusetts.The RoleOur Data team is growing, and we're looking for a Manager II of Data Analytics to lead it. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data, you'll manage a team of product, marketing, and data analysts who own the insights our business runs on, from experiment readouts and funnel analysis to marketing performance and executive reporting.This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll shape the analytics roadmap alongside the Senior Director of Data and your business partners, then own the execution: setting priorities, landing deliverables, and being accountable for the quality of what your team produces. That takes strong operational instincts, the judgment to prioritize across competing requests, and the confidence to ask what a piece of analysis is actually going to change before your team invests in it. You'll be responsible for the technical and career growth of each analyst on your team, and you'll help hire as the team scales.You'll partner closely with Data Engineering to ensure our data models and analytics capabilities reflect how the business needs to measure and understand performance. Your team works primarily in SQL, Python, Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools like Looker and Tableau, with an increasing focus on using AI to accelerate analysis and expand self-service.If you love growing analysts and raising the bar on how a company uses its data, we'd love to meet you.What You’ll Do:Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product, marketing, and data analysts, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance coachingShape the analytics roadmap with the Senior Director of Data and business partners, then prioritize and plan your team's work, tracking progress, removing blockers, and ensuring on-time deliveryPartner with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Data Engineering to translate business needs into actionable insights and scalable analytics solutionsSupport new products and initiatives with the measurement, instrumentation, analysis, and reporting needed to understand performanceDrive the quality, reliability, timeliness, and business impact of the analysis, insights, data models, and reporting your team deliversProvide technical oversight on analytics modeling, experimentation, tooling, and coding best practices, raising standards through reviews and retrospectivesExpand trusted self-service analytics, enabling teams across The Zebra to answer common questions while allowing analysts to focus on higher-value insights and decision supportIdentify gaps in our data and measurement, and partner with Data Engineering and Engineering to drive them to resolutionContribute to the broader data strategy, helping define best practices, shared metrics, and quality standards across the data lifecycleHelp lead hiring for the analytics team, partnering with recruiting to attract, assess, and onboard talentWhat We're Looking For:We look for Zeebs who take ownership of their work, communicate with clarity and empathy, and are eager to learn and grow together. Some requirements to be successful as a Manager II of Data Analytics include:6+ years of experience in a data role (analytics, analytics engineering, or data science), including 3+ years directly managing a teamStrong proficiency with SQL and a working command of PythonStrong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, experimentation, reporting, and statistical analysisExperience with modern data tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or TableauFluency with AI tools and how to use them to drive outcomes for an analytics teamPassionate about building and coaching successful analytics teams, with a track record of developing people technically and professionallyExperience partnering with business stakeholders to set priorities, including pushing back on requests that won't change a decisionOrganized and excited about creating and optimizing analytics processes to set the team up for successAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience managing multiple priorities and adapting in a fast-paced, agile environmentWhat Will Really Impress UsAd tech, marketing analytics, or growth analytics experienceExperience in insurance, insurtech, or fintechExperience building or owning an experimentation program end to endExperience working on a high-traffic, customer-facing websiteWhy Work Here?When we say "All Stripes Welcome," we mean it.
