Location: 2700 Research Drive, Plano, TX 75074

Salary: $60 - $70 Hourly based on experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Occasional weekends and holidays required

Be the pharmacist behind seamless medication delivery and exceptional care for long-term care patients

The Per Diem Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring medications are reviewed, verified, prepared, and delivered safely and accurately to long-term care patients. In this role, you'll oversee dispensing workflows, verify technician work, manage controlled medications, compound sterile and non-sterile products, support quality assurance efforts, and help maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards. Pharmacy technicians, nurses, caregivers, long-term care facilities, healthcare providers, and ultimately the patients they serve all depend on this role's clinical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to safe medication practices.

Unlike pharmacists in retail settings who spend much of their time serving walk-in customers, this position operates within a closed-door pharmacy dedicated exclusively to supporting long-term care communities. You'll work as part of a highly collaborative pharmacy team focused on large-scale medication fulfillment, clinical oversight, compounding, controlled substance management, and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care behind the scenes while leveraging both your clinical knowledge and operational expertise in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Verify prescriptions, technician work, packaged medications, and dispensing activities for accuracy and compliance.
• Review and replace emergency kit contents to ensure medication readiness for customer facilities.
• Manage controlled medication workflows, inventory accuracy, and control room organization.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process backorders, NDC updates, and medication fulfillment exceptions.
• Review and fulfill out-of-pocket and leave-of-absence medication requests.
• Support quality assurance activities and document findings appropriately.
• Provide oversight, guidance, and support to pharmacy technicians and pharmacy staff.
• Monitor workflow performance to ensure service commitments, turnaround times, and customer expectations are met.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as scheduled.
• Ensure compliance with all federals, state, licensing, and company pharmacy regulations and procedures.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and report medication-related concerns as appropriate.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Pharmacy is required, PharmD preferred
• License to practice in state required (Must be in good standing)
• Minimum of 1 year working in healthcare environment as licensed pharmacist

Bonus Points If You Have

• LTC Pharmacy or related environment preferred
• Knowledge of Frameworks and Docutrack information systems is strongly preferred

• This position includes access to highly confidential information including protected health information (PHI) - the Associate must follow Federal and State HIPAA/Privacy laws and maintain compliance with the company’s policies and professional ethics
• This position requires the ability to understand direction and adhere to established procedures

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or move up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Near-vision acuity and color distinction is required
