The Lutheran Home and Harwood Place is seeking to add a Medical Records Unit Clerk to our team. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of secretarial, administrative and medical records support to the nursing unit such as:
- Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, patients, families, and other departments in relation to patient care
- Coordinate patient appointments, transportation, transfers, and discharges
- Receive, analyze, process, and maintain both paper and electronic charts
- Perform secretarial and administrative duties on nursing units.
Requirements for the position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of Unit Clerk, scheduling, or similar experience
- Prior experience in a nursing home preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to interruptions and changing priorities/workloads.
