Physical Therapist AssistantAs our Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide compassionate, personalized care in the home, under the direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the physician's plan of care. Our skilled staff improve lives by providing care for our patients wherever they call home. We are focused on caring for patients recovering from injuries, living with a chronic illness, and other medical needs.Every day, you will provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.To thrive as a physical therapist assistant, you must be a team player. You'll constantly collaborate with other therapy staff, patients, and their families to seek the best possible treatment outcome. You should be personable, positive, and motivated to provide quality care to a wide variety of patients every day.Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performanceDirects and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic trainingObserves and reports to the physical therapist the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's conditionInstructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devicesMaintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record within 24 hours of patient careParticipates in Home Care team meetings and in-service Education ProgramJob RequirementsGraduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by the American Physical Therapy AssociationLicensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant within the State of NDPossesses and maintains current CPR certificationCurrent MN Driver's licenseAuto InsuranceCommonSpirit Health was formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health.
