The perfect candidate should have an eye for detail, a knack for problem-solving, and an ability to remain calm in stressful situations.We are currently looking for a:Splish Splash Security GuardRoles & Responsibilities:Enforce all Park rules and regulationsMonitor Park assets with intent to ensure the safety of all our guests and employeesMaintain constant vigilance while the park is operating to identify any potential issues or safety concerns communicate any potential issues to other departments and/or leadership in a timely mannerConduct bag checks to prevent prohibited items from entering the parkMaintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guestsMonitor guest safety and communicate conflicts to supervisors on dutyTake control of emergency and intense situations while remaining calmProfessionally manage crowd control during emergency situationsContinuously monitor guest behaviors and attempt to curtail any potential situations before they escalate furtherExercise clear and concise communications with all park departmentsAnswer phone calls, providing pleasant and helpful phone contact for staff and the public.Assist in safety prevention efforts, including responding to all safety calls, fire alarms, and emergencies.Utilize electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, monitors and supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property.All other duties as assigned by leadershipPay Rate: $22 / hr.Education and Experience:High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalent work experience will also be considered1+ year of previous security or related experience highly desiredNY Security Identification Card requiredLanguage:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent EnglishSpanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NY Child Labor LawsSeasonal role so candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftMust possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving recordAbility to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipmentAbility to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructionsAbility to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note-taking techniques for specific situationsAbility to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefsAbility to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and take appropriate actions in a quick and effective mannerAbility to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devicesAbility to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situationsAbility to collaborate with other team members, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situationsMust possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to walk, stand, or run on uphill, downhill, or uneven surfaces.Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer/camera equipmentAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreMust have good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions:This role will be based in both an office setting as well as frequent exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environmentsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditionsSubject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environmentsSubject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesTeam member benefits:Working at Splish Splash is about making people happy!
