Job Title: Welder Helper 20-24/Hour

Job Description
The Welder Helper supports welders and fabrication teams by preparing materials, maintaining tools, and assisting with basic welding tasks in a shop environment. This role requires familiarity with common welding tools and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities

• Assist welders with setup, material handling, and job preparation.
• Operate basic shop tools, including grinders, oxy-acetylene torch, and chop saw.
• Measure and mark materials using a tape measure to ensure accuracy.
• Clean and prep metal surfaces for welding through grinding and deburring.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition.
• Follow all shop safety procedures, including PPE and hazard awareness.
• Support general shop tasks and material movement as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience using basic welding and fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, chop saws, and tape measures.
• Understanding of shop safety standards and safe tool operation.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift materials and work in a physical shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Some experience with welding would be beneficial.
• Ability to read schematics or shop prints.
• Experience with MIG welding is a plus.

The position is based in an industrial shop setting with noise, heat, and metal fabrication equipment. It involves standing, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
