System Engineer (MSP Experience Required)

Location: Ashland, VA or Suffolk, VA Compensation: Up to $95K

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled System Engineer with experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments to join our team. This is an on-site role, requiring daily presence at one of our locations in Ashland, VA, or Suffolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset to deliver outstanding IT solutions and support.

Key Responsibilities

Client-Facing Duties:

• Implement new technologies at client sites, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
• Educate clients on new systems, providing clear training and thorough documentation.
• Perform scheduled tasks with precision and maintain a professional workspace.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients to verify successful project completion and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with clients to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

Internal Operations:

• Coordinate with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Offer actionable feedback to internal teams based on client interactions and experiences.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of implemented systems.
• Log time and expenses accurately within the ticketing system.
• Manage and track inventory used during projects, ensuring proper equipment utilization.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and after-hours support rotations as needed.
• Pursue ongoing technical and professional development as directed.
• Maintain and update client contact details and associated documentation.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT system implementation and client-facing roles.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with technical troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Experience with network installations, including running and activating network lines.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Windows Server (2012, 2016, and 2019).
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Hyper-V.
• Expertise in security system configurations, including firewalls, VLANs, switches, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Experience with Office 365 and related security systems (preferred).
