Software Developer – Dearborn, MI Job ID: 64047 Category: Information Technology Type: Contract; Duration: Long Term We are looking for a Software Engineer (APIs & Developer Tools) who will build shared services, APIs, and developer tooling that help engineering teams deliver value safely and quickly. Responsibilities Deliver production services/APIs (design, implementation, testing, and operations). Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Go, C#, Python, TypeScript). API design and lifecycle management including versioning, backward compatibility, pagination, and error modeling. Strong testing discipline: unit, component, and integration tests; refactor safely. Debug across layers using logs, metrics, and traces. Build and maintain platform APIs with a product mindset. Security implementation: OAuth/OIDC, least privilege, threat modeling, input validation. Use Kubernetes and infrastructure as code with platform/SRE teams. Maintain quality: tests, clear design, observability, secure defaults. Qualifications / Experience 6+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years of development. Python – production‑grade code for platform workflows and tooling. Go – performant, concurrent programs for platform services. Docker – production‑quality container images and lifecycle understanding. Kubernetes – deploy, troubleshoot, operate workloads. REST APIs – design, implement, version, and product‑oriented. Linux – operation, debugging, troubleshooting at production level. GCP – provision, operate, troubleshoot cloud‑native services. Tekton – design and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code. React – build internal developer‑facing UIs (dashboards, portals).
