Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance the quality of care and life for patients, families, and significant others by evaluating nursing practices systematically.
  • Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Formulate assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of health and well-being.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the effects of illness on patients’ diverse statuses.
  • Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to assess needs and evaluate outcomes.
  • Engage in effective communication to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
  • Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to ensure age-appropriate and clinically relevant nursing care.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety in all activities.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent oral communication and standing/walking.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent auditory communication and detection of sounds.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive movements.
  • Rare crawling and running.
Licensure and Certifications

Applicants must hold the following certifications based on their state of work location:

  • Illinois: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • Missouri: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or a Compact State RN license.
  • Oklahoma: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from a Compact State or the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
  • Wisconsin: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from a Compact State or the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
