CDL Class A Truck Driver

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a -------- CDL Class A Truck Driver for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in -- Newark, NJ . Details for the position are as follows:

CDL Class A Truck Driver
Location: Newark, NJ
Pay Rate: $31.50-$33.00/hr
Duration: 3 Months

Job Description

Transport and deliver materials safely and on schedule to customer locations.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance checks.
Plan and follow delivery routes using GPS navigation.
Maneuver trucks for loading and unloading operations.
Complete delivery documentation, logs, and electronic data entry.
Verify delivery instructions and maintain required transportation records.
Report vehicle defects, incidents, and regulatory compliance issues.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Required Skills

Minimum 3 years of verifiable interstate Class A CDL driving experience.
Clean driving record with no moving violations or at-fault accidents within the past 3 years.
Experience performing DOT-compliant vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance checks.
Valid DOT medical certificate (Long Form) or ability to obtain one through pre-employment physical.
Proficiency using GPS navigation systems for route planning.
Experience with electronic driver logs, transportation documentation, and data entry.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements.
Experience operating CB radio and in-cab communication systems.

Preferred Skills

Experience delivering industrial or commercial materials.
Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for commercial freight.
Experience maintaining delivery and compliance documentation in transportation environments.
