Vito's Italian Restaurant is seeking a talented, dependable Line Cook to help create memorable Italian dining experiences in Saint Johns, FL. This is an opportunity for a culinary professional who takes pride in scratch cooking, thoughtful plate presentation, and consistently excellent food quality. You will work in an in-person, team-focused kitchen where your preparation, creativity, and attention to detail directly shape every guest’s experience. Whether your background is as a Line Cook, Cook, Sauté Cook, Prep Cook, or Restaurant Cook, you can build your skills while contributing to authentic Italian cuisine in a welcoming full-service restaurant setting.

What You Will Do:

• Prepare and cook high-quality à la carte menu items, including pasta, sauces, soups, and Italian specialties, according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate assigned stations with confidence, using sautéing, broiling, batch cooking, and scratch-cooking techniques to keep service moving smoothly.
• Apply strong knife skills, portion control, and food-quality awareness to produce consistent, attractive dishes for every guest.
• Support menu planning and daily prep by maintaining organized mise en place, properly rotating ingredients, and communicating needs to the kitchen team.
• Follow safe food-handling, sanitation, dietary-restriction, and kitchen-cleanliness practices throughout every shift.
• Help manage food costs by minimizing waste, using ingredients responsibly, and maintaining accurate portions.

What You Will Bring:

• You have professional cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant, culinary, or hospitality kitchen environment.
• You bring demonstrated skill with pasta preparation, sautéing, knife work, scratch cooking, and consistent plate presentation.
• You can stay composed and detail-oriented during busy meal periods while maintaining speed, quality, and cleanliness.
• You are a reliable, collaborative teammate who communicates respectfully with chefs, servers, and fellow kitchen staff.
• You understand portion control, food safety, and the importance of delivering dependable food quality on every ticket.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Culinary Arts degree or formal culinary training is valued, though equivalent restaurant kitchen experience is also welcomed.
• Experience with breakfast service, pantry work, pastry making, soup production, menu planning, or accommodating dietary restrictions is a plus.

Pay and Benefits:

• This in-person Line Cook position pays $16 to $25 per hour , based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
• Eligible team members receive holiday pay.
