Teleneurology/Telestroke Neurologist Opportunity

The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology at West Virginia University School of Medicine are seeking Teleneurology/Telestroke neurologists for our Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center. Ranks include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank.

Candidates for these roles will work remotely and function as faculty in the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI). The RNI is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer's disease.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of general neurology and vascular neurology. The weekly coverage schedule is from 5:00pm to 8:00am. 24-hour coverage over the weekend runs from 8:00am Friday to 8:00am Monday. In addition to providing excellent patient care, opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows exist. There are ample opportunities for research.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a neurology residency program as well as vascular neurology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in neurology and vascular neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
