Schedule: 6PM-2:30AM
Pay: $16.00 an hour

 

Position Summary

The Janitorial Team Lead is a hands-on cleaning position responsible for covering assigned buildings, supporting cleaners, and helping ensure each location meets company and customer expectations. This position provides coverage for absences and open assignments, assists with training, and communicates staffing, cleaning, and supply concerns to management.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine janitorial duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom cleaning and sanitation.
• Travel between assigned buildings and provide cleaning coverage for call-offs, vacancies, and additional service needs during scheduled work hours.
• Help organize daily cleaning assignments and communicate priorities to team members.
• Train new and existing cleaners on building-specific duties, cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
• Complete walkthroughs to check cleaning quality and ensure assigned tasks are completed before leaving each location.
• Address missed cleaning tasks and provide immediate guidance or retraining when needed.
• Report attendance concerns, performance issues, customer complaints, and incomplete work to the supervisor or operations manager.
• Document walkthrough findings, training, and follow-up actions through Orange QC or other designated company systems.
• Monitor supplies and equipment, request replenishment, and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Follow each building’s procedures for keys, access badges, alarms, and securing doors.
• Follow chemical handling instructions, required protective equipment practices, and company safety procedures.
• Promptly report injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, and property damage.
• Maintain professional communication with employees, management, and customer contacts, referring concerns outside the role’s authority to management.

 

Qualifications

• Acceptable Criminal Background Screen
• Acceptable Drug Test Screen
• Previous commercial cleaning experience required.
• Previous team lead, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned locations required.
• Ability to meet company driving requirements if operating a company vehicle.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and guide other cleaners.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and clear communication skills.
• Ability to use a mobile device for work assignments, timekeeping, and documentation.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule and accommodate changes in building assignments.

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform cleaning duties involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and moving cleaning supplies and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
