Surgical Tech for the Cardiac OR (CVOR)

Location: Portland, Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for providing assistance in the Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR), ensuring a sterile environment and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies. The tech will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate successful surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Assure the availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
• Assist surgical teams during operations by providing instruments and maintaining the sterile field.
• Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of equipment and instruments post-surgery.
• Support patient care team with other duties as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Experience in Level 1 trauma and cardiac surgical procedures is highly preferred.
• CST certification is required.
