Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) team. This position involves providing exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced environment, focusing on those with cardiac conditions.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 34
• Number of Staff: 44
• Day Shift Staffing: 11 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 12 Registered Nurses (RNs)
• Night Shift Staffing: 6 PCTs, 13 RNs
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 for PCU level, 1:6 for MST level
• Location: Arlington, TX

Equipment and Technology

The unit is equipped with advanced technology including:

• Vital Signs machines
• EKG monitors
• Bladder scanners
• Glucometers
• Continuous pulse oximetry

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and certifications:

• Required:
  
  
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Preferred:
  
  
  • PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation)

Experience

Candidates should have experience providing care at the ICU or PCU level, with previous precepting experience being a strong asset.

Typical Procedures

Responsibilities may include performing the following procedures:

• Foley and NGT (Nasogastric Tube) insertions
• Wound care
