School-Based Physical Therapist - Canandaigua, NY

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Physical Therapist supporting preschool students at a vibrant educational center in Rochester. This onsite position focuses on providing expert care to young learners, ages 3-5, for a summer Extended School Year (ESY) program and into the start of the new school year (NSY). The assignment begins July 6, 2026, and continues through August 14, 2026, with an extension from September 8 through October 31, 2026, and the potential to extend into November. With a caseload of 25 to 30 students, you'll play a key role in early intervention and development, covering a valued team member's maternity leave.


Key Qualifications:

• Valid Physical Therapy license in New York State
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in school-based or pediatric settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective interaction with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet individual student needs
• Commitment to maintaining a positive and nurturing educational environment

What You'll Do:

• Deliver targeted physical therapy services to preschool students onsite
• Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans to address developmental and mobility needs
• Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
• Consult with teaching staff and caregivers to ensure continuity of care
• Utilize creativity and clinical expertise to facilitate student growth and participation within the school setting
