Job Title Carpenter Lead Department Facilities & Operations Administration – MU5200 Location Marshall University, Huntington, WV Salary Range $38,389 – $43,396 per year (commensurate with education, experience and internal equity) Job Description The Carpenter Lead is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance, repair, and alteration of building structures and facilities, utilizing established procedures and techniques of the carpentry trade. This position provides day‑to‑day guidance, direction, and support to the carpentry team to ensure quality workmanship, safe practices, and timely completion of assignments. The Carpenter Lead also assists with planning, assigning, and reviewing work, and assumes shop management responsibilities in the absence of the Shop Manager to ensure continuity of operations. Additional responsibilities include practicing preventive maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment, complying with federal safety and environmental regulations, properly handling hazardous materials, and ensuring work and repairs are completed in accordance with work orders or verbal instructions.
