Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required with 6 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read a telemetry strip.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Holiday time off must be approved by manager; holidays are required based on unit coverage.

Unit Details: The ICU float cluster includes Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro. Tower 2 cares for medical, surgical, and trauma patients. Tower 4 is a cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO. 4 Neuro is a neuro-specific ICU. Ratios: 1:2 in Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro; 1:4 on Tele. Handles all critical drips. Uses all types of respiratory support, including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen, plus tele monitors and GE equipment.

Shift & Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks; weekends are Saturday and Sunday. No call. If placed on standby due to low census, response time is 30 minutes. Schedule is made 4 weeks in advance and can be changed 2 weeks in advance based on hospital needs.

Floating Requirements: Required to float among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units, including sister campuses Westgate in Glendale and AZ General Laveen. Must be able to function independently when floated to outside areas and may not refuse assigned float locations.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
