Position Overview

We invite you to become a Research Scientist Physician within our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department located in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities

• Utilize EPIC EMR for efficient patient management.
• Engage with a nationally recognized, physician-led medical group that integrates various service lines.
• Take advantage of DAX Copilot, an AI-driven clinical documentation tool that simplifies workflows by generating preliminary patient notes for quick review and approval.
• Foster a safe and equitable healthcare environment for all patients.
• Establish and oversee a comprehensive research program in your specialty within PM&R, focusing on areas such as neuromuscular medicine, neurorehabilitation, regenerative medicine, or other subspecialties.
• Deliver exceptional clinical care, incorporating the latest evidence-based practices and research insights.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to apply research findings in clinical settings.
• Obtain external funding through grants from organizations like NIH, DOD, NIDILRR, and private foundations.
• Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Guide junior faculty, residents, and fellows in research techniques and clinical practices.
• Contribute to the development of curricula and educational activities for medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in the strategic planning and advancement of the PM&R department.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• A proven history of securing research funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
• Experience in designing and executing clinical trials is a plus.
• Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative spirit in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina.
