Network Administrator

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Remote Network Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the organization's network infrastructure. The successful candidate will help ensure secure, reliable, and efficient network connectivity while monitoring performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network administration, cybersecurity fundamentals, and network troubleshooting, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate with IT teams in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Monitor network performance, availability, and connectivity to identify and resolve potential issues. Troubleshoot network outages, latency, connectivity problems, and hardware or software failures. Administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), and wireless networks. Manage network access controls, user permissions, and authentication settings. Implement network security measures to protect systems, devices, and organizational data. Apply network configuration updates, firmware upgrades, and security patches. Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, IP addresses, infrastructure changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Perform routine network maintenance, backups, and recovery checks. Investigate network incidents and coordinate with other IT specialists to resolve complex problems. Support remote access solutions and secure connectivity for distributed employees. Collaborate with cybersecurity and systems administration teams to maintain IT security standards. Evaluate network capacity and recommend improvements to reliability, performance, and scalability. Assist with disaster recovery planning and network continuity procedures. Follow organizational IT policies, security requirements, and change management procedures. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered. Two to five years of experience in network administration, network support, or IT infrastructure management is preferred. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and subnetting. Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks. Familiarity with VPN technologies, remote access, and network monitoring tools. Understanding of network security principles, access control, and vulnerability management. Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to document technical procedures and communicate solutions clearly. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple technical issues. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with remote IT teams. Reliable internet access and a suitable remote working environment. Preferred Qualifications Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or an equivalent networking certification. Experience with enterprise firewalls, network access control, and secure remote connectivity. Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and services. Experience with network automation or scripting using Python, PowerShell, or similar tools. Understanding of IT service management practices, including incident and change management. Work Schedule Fully remote work arrangement. Full-time employment. Occasional after-hours maintenance or on-call support may be required, depending on operational needs.
