You care for pets. We care for you. Position Overview Join our team as a Part-Time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment in Bonita Springs, Florida. This role allows you to stay clinically engaged while maintaining balance and flexibility. Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists (SWFLVS) is a multi‑specialty and emergency hospital serving Naples and surrounding communities. The facility offers advanced diagnostics including CT, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, digital radiology, a full laboratory, an I‑131 treatment ward, and telemetry. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Client communication and education Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintaining accurate medical records Pharmacy duties, including prescribing and controlled‑substance protocols Promoting teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operation from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible Participate in practice‑management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration Minimum of 1 year experience in emergency veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Team‑oriented work style Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care Client communication skills: ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and explain treatment plans Comfort with handling pets in severe stress, illness, or pain Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to perform adequately physically demanding tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical knowledge and skill in evaluating animals across systems Problem‑solving and operational excellence in veterinary hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism and ability to accept and provide constructive feedback Business acumen related to veterinary practice management Knowledge of ethical principles in veterinary decision making Commitment to continuing education and teaching others Benefits Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000 Continuing Education stipend Licensing and dues reimbursement Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 Employee Assistance Program Supportive home hospital environment backed by national resources Pay Range $170,000 — $200,000 USD PetVet is an equal‑opportunity employer.
