Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in our laboratory. You will receive comprehensive in-house training and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with proper documentation for further analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in both written and digital reports.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Participate in progressive training and take on increased responsibilities.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in testing concrete.
• Familiarity with construction and laboratory environments.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• 2+ years of experience testing concrete/soil required

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ACI Certification or similar certifications like KYTC, ICC..

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a laboratory setting. Typical working hours are Monday through Saturday, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours. During the summer, expect to work more hours than in the winter. Overtime compensation is available after 40 hours. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest projects in the state across various industries, including Industrial, Power, and Private sectors. We provide hands-on training and cover costs for certifications and additional trainings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Louisville,KY.
